These days there are so many things you can do with your life that it’s way too hard to keep track of all of them. In fact, some people probably wouldn’t even mind returning to the good old days, where you just followed the footsteps of your parents and learned whatever they were into.
With the internet, you can find job opportunities on the other side of the world doing things you never even knew existed with just a few clicks.
While this has obvious disadvantages, there are many advantages as well. For one, you can expand your horizons quite effortlessly. The one issue is that to do many of those things you often need to have some sort of experience or skill.
Fortunately, the internet comes to the rescue once again. With a quick google search, you can find numerous certifications and degrees that will completely change what you can do with your life. Some of these certifications aren’t even that hard to get!

In some places, like southern California, all you need is a few thousand dollars and a 40-hour course to get the basic certification.
Certified Construction Flagger
Take a 4-hour online course and put in an application with a local construction company or union hall. Pay is pretty good, but of course, it’s not exactly safe to stand out by the road all day.
Knight of Sealand

In case you don’t know, check out the source link above. Sealand is basically an unrecognized (at least by most nations) sovereign microstate off the coast of the United Kingdom. It is located on an abandoned World War II fortress, and you can apply for citizenship/knighthood/other things.
Of course, being able to ski and living near the mountains is a plus.
You can get certified to teach archery in a lot of places by taking a one day class.
There are several different certifications in this field that you can get in a weekend.
Just ask around at your local forklift dealer. Most offer training classes. They’re around $150 and don’t require renewal.
It’s not really a certification, but all you have to do is declare yourself eligible for the draft. And then put “NBA Free Agent” on your resume.
TEFL (Teaching English As A Foreign Language)
You can get this certification pretty easily by doing a google search and taking a few classes. It is good for a lifetime, and schools all over the world (Asia, Europe, South America) are looking for teachers with it. Note: Having a college degree is usually a pre-requisite, and it’s a good idea to do a little research on the companies as there are courses that will leave you with less than expected.
