There’s no doubt that the ethics and morals of our society have seen a drastic change toward dissolution in the past few decades and various forms of entertainment (film, music, and TV) have had a significant impact on this development. Getting a divorce nowadays is seen as a sign of independence (particularly for women) instead of failure and lack of dedication to making a marriage work. Gossip magazines and websites make tons of money reporting who broke up and who divorced in the showbiz industry, and there are even betting houses where you can bet on which celebrity couple will divorce or break up next.
However, there are always exceptions to the rule and on our list today we have 25 celebrity marriages who buck against the trend toward divorce, thus showing everyday people strong examples of happy married couples with children.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick met when they played the leads in the TV movie Lemon Sky (1988) and they’ve been together ever since. They got married a couple of months after they met on the set and have two children.
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness
Hugh Jackman might be one of the most desirable male stars of the past fifteen years and has earned titles such as the 2008 Sexiest Man Alive by People, but the actor has eyes for no other woman except his lovely wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. They met on the set of the Australian TV show Correlli (1995) and got married a year later. Unfortunately Deborra had two miscarriages. Nevertheless this led them to adopt two adorable children, Oscar Maximillian and Ava Eliot.
Michelle Pfeiffer and David E. Kelley
Michelle Pfeiffer’s story sounds like a fairy tale, especially to her dedicated fans. She married actor and director Peter Horton in 1981 but the marriage didn’t last long; they divorced in 1988. She then met another actor named Fisher Stevens whom she dated for three years. When that relationship didn’t work out either, Pfeiffer decided to focus on her career and in 1993 adopted a baby girl whom she would raise by herself. During the same year, however, she met and married lawyer and producer David E. Kelley with whom she has a son and they have been together ever since.
John Travolta and Kelly Preston
This beautiful couple met during the filming of The Experts (1989) and it took them about two years to realize that they were meant to be together for the rest of their lives. They made some buzz with their “adventurous” wedding since they had two different marriage ceremonies a week apart. Their first wedding ceremony, conducted on September 5, 1991, officiated by a French Scientologist minister, was found to be unofficial. The subsequent official ceremony took place on September 12.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Rita Wilson and Hollywood megastar (and one of the highest-grossing actors in film history) Tom Hanks have been married since April 30, 1988, and they have two sons together. Wilson has also adopted Hanks’s two children from his previous marriage. Hanks also converted to the Greek Orthodox Church to honor his wife’s ethnic and religious background.
