Every year, Mercer, an American consulting firm, unveils its quality of life index that ranks cities worldwide based on various parameters. This list is commonly used by numerous companies to gauge the appropriate compensation for their employees and identify opportunities for international expansion. In this ranking, New York City holds a default score of 100, and all other cities are ranked in relation to this. Notably, no cities from the US or UK appear in the top 25, a position often dominated by cities from German-speaking regions. However, this doesn’t imply that these are poor locations for living. If you browse through the rankings post the 25th position, you’ll come across various American and British cities, particularly in the 50s range. With the world being home to thousands of sprawling cities, even securing a position in the top 100 is quite commendable. Here are the top 25 cities renowned for their superior quality of life.
