Resident Evil 6

Also known as Biohazard 6, this is an action-adventure third-person shooter video game that is released this year on Microsoft Windows. The 9th installment in the Resident Evil series, there has been a great debate among gamers on whether the installment should belong to the survival horror genre or not. Players can select between three scenarios with connected storylines that follow one of the three main protagonists with the help of the computer AI or another player through local or online multiplayer. They will only unlock the fourth scenario once the finished the other three. The gameplay also features the Mercenaries and the Agent Hunt modes.

assassinThe next Assassin’s Creed is an open world pirate game, offering a huge, seamless chunk of the Caribbean to explore and plunder as you please. It builds on the naval battles of the third game, tying the ocean-faring to the ground-based game without a loading screen in sight. An exciting progression for the series.

Star Trek

Star Trek is a third-person action-adventure video game that is offered this year on the PC platform besides a number of gaming consoles, gamers will be treated to a cooperative gameplay where two players can play and control two characters, Kirk and Spock. It does not allow players to switch between the two players but to make them drop-in and play alongside cooperatively in a game’s genre described as ‘bro-op.’ The two characters have different gameplay techniques and weapons as well, where Kirk is the typical shooter while Spock have his stealth techniques. Players will gain experience as they unlock additional settings on their own weapons.

Dead Space 3

Dead Space 3 is a third-person shooter survival horror video game and is the third installment to the Dead Space series. Set on the frozen planet, Tau Volantis, players will follow the game’s protagonists John Carver and Isaac Clarke in their quests to end the Necromorph threat. The game is more fast-paced than its two previous series since you will not be given time to think or change weapons before an enemy comes after you. However, the satisfaction of completing the game will be definitely worth it.

Company of Heroes 2

A real-time strategy game, Company of Heroes 2 is a sequel to the highly-acclaimed 2006’s Company of Heroes. Defiance is a science fiction-themed world MMORPG third-person shooter game, which is a tie-in to the Syfy show of the same name. Taking place on a terra-formed earth several decades into the future, the gameplay involves dynamic events called Arkfalls, massive chunks of alien ships with valuable technology that crash down from space. The Cave is built on the idea about the cave that lures people in and explores their darker personality traits. Players can select three different characters from the cast of seven that will explore the cave and they must work together to complete puzzles, while other puzzles can also be specific to the unique abilities of the characters.

BioShock Infinite

A first-person shooter video game and the 3rd installment to the BioShock series, Bioshock Infinite just might be the most compelling of this generation despite its flaws.
