Parasite living inside fish eyeball controls its behaviour

A common parasite that lives in fish eyeballs seems to be a driver behind the fish’s behaviour, pulling the strings from inside its eyes.

When the parasite is young, it helps its host stay safe from predators. But once the parasite matures, it does everything it can to get that fish eaten by a bird and so continue its life cycle. (click on the image to read the full article).

Uber Faces Federal Criminal Probe Over ‘Greyball’ Software

Federal prosecutors have begun a criminal investigation into Uber Technologies Inc.’s use of software that tricked local regulators who were trying to identify drivers in sting operations, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

Through a program called “Greyball,” Uber was able to hide its drivers by showing government officials dummy versions of its app with fake cars trawling the streets. (click on the image to read the full article).
