Did you hear the one about the Emmys’ being super diverse this year?
The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, which ran Monday night on NBC, opened not with the hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost, but with a parade of beloved performers, including Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon and Ricky Martin, doing an awkwardly self-deprecating musical bit about Hollywood’s commitment to inclusion called “We Solved It.” From that point, the word “diversity” (or “diverse”) lingered like a trending hashtag, hammered home by one person after another seemingly every few minutes. Sony announces PlayStation Classic, a $100 mini PS1
Sony is following in Nintendo’s footsteps with its own miniaturized throwback console: the PlayStation Classic, a new version of the original PlayStation that you can hold in your hand and easily connect to a modern television.
Like Nintendo’s NES Classic and SNES Classic, the PlayStation Classic will come packed with a list of beloved hits from the system’s original library. There will be 20 games in all, but Sony only announced five of them today: Final Fantasy 7, Jumping Flash, R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3 and Wild Arms. “All of the pre-loaded games will be playable in their original format,” the company said in an announcement post on the PlayStation Blog. Harrison Ford recently took the stage at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco, California, to offer an impassioned message to anyone and everyone concerned about our environmental future — the problem starts at the top.
“Stop giving power to people who don’t believe in science, or worse than that, pretend they don’t believe in science for their own self-interest,” the Star Wars star said in what could certainly be interpreted as an attack on President Donald Trump and his policies. “They know who they are. We know who they are.” (Click image to continue article).

Serial Season 3 Is Ambitious, Addictive, and Completely Different
It’s such a pleasure to listen to Serial again. The podcast’s highly anticipated third season opens, as it always does, with Sarah Koenig’s narration, once again lyrical and surprising and wildly economical. Koenig, who will split hosting duties this season with This American Life staffer Emmanuel Dzotsi, takes just under 25 seconds in the opening minutes to vividly establish Cleveland’s Justice Center, which serves as the hub of stories for the season. Cary Fukunaga to Direct 'James Bond 25'
James Bond has a new boss.
Cary Fukunaga has been named director for the 25th installment of the 007 franchise, with Daniel Craig reprising his role — reportedly for the last time — as the iconic spy with the license to kill.
Bond producers Eon made the announcement on Thursday, adding that production had been pushed back to March 2019 for a worldwide release date of Feb. 14, 2020, shifting Bond from its traditional winter slot (and some four months back from its previous launch date of Oct. 25, 2019).
