Iran’s army said Friday it carried out drone strikes against U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan, widening the latest retaliation claims after another night of American strikes on Iran.
The claim, reported by CBS News and The Hindu, came as the U.S.-Iran conflict pushed deeper into the Gulf and the eastern Mediterranean support network around U.S. forces.
What Iran Claimed
Iran’s army said Arash explosive drones targeted fuel tanks, equipment warehouses, silos and barracks used by U.S. forces at Isa Air Base in Bahrain, according to statements carried by Iranian state TV and cited in the reports.
The same Iranian statement claimed attacks on Al-Azraq base in Jordan, saying aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities and a barracks were targeted. Jordan had not reported any new strikes in the hours after the claim, according to both CBS News and The Hindu.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said sirens sounded across the country Friday, and a reporter in Bahrain heard an explosion, though it was not immediately clear whether that was connected to the Iranian claim.
Why It Matters
The latest claim is significant because Bahrain hosts the U.S. Fifth Fleet, while Jordan has already been pulled into the war through repeated missile and drone activity. If verified, the attacks would mark another direct pressure point on U.S.-linked bases outside Iran itself.
The timing also matters. U.S. Central Command said it completed a 13th consecutive night of strikes on Iran, targeting drone sites, command centers and other military targets tied to threats against commercial shipping in and around the Strait of Hormuz. Al Jazeera reported blasts in several Iranian cities, including Khorramabad, Jask, Ahvaz and Bandar Abbas.
Iran Warns Other Countries
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also warned that Tehran would hold any country accountable if it assists U.S. attacks on Iran. He said any participation or cooperation in what Tehran calls aggression would create international responsibility and that Iran reserved the right to act in self-defense.
Iranian state media separately reported that an overnight U.S. strike near Ahvaz in southwestern Khuzestan province killed at least four people and injured several others.
For now, the sharpest factual line is this: Iran is claiming new attacks on U.S.-linked bases in Bahrain and Jordan, but independent confirmation remains limited, and Jordan has not reported a fresh strike.
