The God Eater 3 is Bandai Namco’s take on a battle between “the chosen ones” and its’ enemies. Having inspired a famous 13-episode television series earlier in 2015, the God Eater franchise is all set to bring back their name to the world of games. The God Eater 3- Attack on Aragami has been launched in both Japanese and English; in Japan on December 13 for PlayStation 4, and will be making its way around Europe and North America after last Friday for both PlayStation 4 and PC. The trailer launched on Friday took the internet by storm, and for good reason.
Gamers have always been attracted to the exhilarating adrenaline rush that comes with putting themselves in harm’s way (albeit in the world of fiction) to conquer powers that are unparalleled. God Eater 3- Attack on Aragami provides the same action-RPG narrative, as described by Bandai Namco:
“Earth no longer resembles the home we know of now. The Aragami, terrifying beasts that live only to consume, are carving a path of destruction and misery wherever they are encountered. To combat this threat an elite group of heroes known as God Eaters are called upon to save humanity. God Eaters are individuals who have been bestowed upon them the ability to wield powerful new God Arcs, special weapons powered by Oracle Cells and the only known weapons capable of destroying the monstrous Aragami. However, another mission is coming into focus; something is happening to the God Eaters and the line between light and dark has never been so thin. It’s time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles that bind the souls of the God Eaters as the battle rages on around them.”
As you embark on the journey to defeat the Aragami to protect your world, you undergo a plot that deals with trauma, friendship and the connection between the two as you uncover secrets about your own character. As good as the plot sounds, the game is best known for its genre of fighting and combat. God Eater 3 provides a full range of motion during fights, requiring gamers to be vigilant and expeditious with their moves, in order to deliver maximum damage to the Aragami without being hit. It can be played in both melees and ranged style of combat. Notorious to the God eater franchise is the eccentric combat mode known as the “burst mode”, where your weapon gains power by the damage it delivers (i.e. killing the Aragami), giving more efficiency to basic skills and increasing the damage you deliver in one move, providing gamers plenty of choices to get the satisfaction of turning the indomitable Aragami into dust. Although the difficulty level remains somewhat stagnant throughout the game, there are times when God eaters are heavily outnumbered to the Aragami, requiring them to rely on every single bit of their skills, galvanizes gamers, and adds the thrilling elements of danger and fear to the game.
All in all God Eater 3 is a treat for gamers who crave good RPG action, with its fast-paced invigorating combat in the backdrop of well-tuned Assault Missions against unorthodox enemies, skilled Japanese anime designs and many different customizations to opt from, it is a remarkable addition to the franchise.
