What is Brad Pitt’ net worth? Born William Bradley Pitt on December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, movie star Brad Pitt grew up in a Southern Baptist family. His father owned a trucking company and his mother was a family counselor. Early on in life, Pitt wanted to be an art director and studied journalism at the University of Missouri.
But secretly, he wanted something more. He had always loved watching movies as a kid and quietly wanted to be an actor, so on a whim, he dropped out of college and went to Los Angeles to chase his dreams. He calmed his parents by telling them he would enroll in the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, but he didn’t. Instead, he spent several months driving around a limousine and joining acting classes.
He made a friend in one class and she actually invited him to be her scene partner for an audition with an agent. Much to everyone’s surprise, the agent was more impressed by Pitt and signed him instead of his classmate. After just seven months in Hollywood, Pitt had landed an agent and was booking acting gigs. Not exactly your typical Hollywood story.
Even though Pitt is a bonafide movie star these days, he started off in television and was featured in episodes of Dallas, Another World and Growing Pains. He then got his big screen debut in the 1989 horror film Cutting Class, but there was one problem: he was still known solely for his pretty face. He was getting regular work, but it wasn’t exactly the most fulfilling work out there.
Things slowly started to change in the early ‘90s, though. Pitt gave a strong performance in Robert Redford’s A River Runs Through It, and then teamed up with Tom Cruise in 1994 in the film Interview with the Vampire. In 1995, starred in Twelve Monkeys and earned a Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actor. He also received an Oscar nomination for the role.
In 2009, Pitt was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for his beautiful performance in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Three years later, he got another Best Actor nom for his role in Moneyball. Even though he still hasn’t won an Oscar for his acting, he did share a Best Picture win in 2013 for 12 Years a Slave, which he produced through his Plan B Entertainment company.
Plan B was formed by Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Grey in 2001. In addition to 12 Years a Slave, the production company has produced several other award-winning films like Moonlight, The Big Short and If Beale Street Could Talk.
As you can imagine, Brad Pitt’s net worth is an estimated $300 million. It was at $240 million a few years back. Needless to say, he rakes in more money than Khloe Kardashian, but not quite as much as Jerry Seinfeld.
