25 Things That Are Legal But Also Really Annoying

Posted by , Updated on February 6, 2024

Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s acceptable, ethical, or right. Although this applies most directly to the worlds of finance, healthcare, business, etc, there are a few such things that are just more annoying than anything else. These are 25 things that are legal but also really annoying.

Philadelphia even had a campaign against this with the phrase “Dude, it’s rude.”

And then on the sidewalk has to do a quick shuffle to avoid tackling the phone-checker.

23

Patent trolling

Patent trolling is when a person or company obtains and uses patents for licensing or litigation purposes, rather than in the production of goods or services. They use these patents to enforce patent rights against accused infringers far beyond the patent’s actual value. In spite of numerous attempts, this practice remains legal (unfortunately).

22

Seriously though, why replace your regular beams with lasers? Isn’t that what the high beams are for?

19

Hanging out in chokepoints

This would include doorways, the tops of staircases, or anywhere else that inhibits the flow of pedestrian traffic.

18

Fake news

fake newsSource: reddit

As if the baby boomers aren’t scared enough already, we need ultra-conservative-protection-patriots-of-america-united-baldeagles-and-stuff.com to peddle made up news about how Muslims are going to take over the world…or was it the Jews? Who knows anymore.

17

Clickbait

How is this even legal!? Click here to find out!!!

Note: there’s no link, it’s a joke.

If you live in a developed English speaking country, consider yourself lucky. In most of the world queuing is…uh…optional.

15

Elephant races

trucksSource: quora

This is when one semi tries to overtake another semi on the highway, but it takes so long that they just end up sitting side by side causing a traffic jam.

14

“Unlimited” data

internetSource: quora

How is 200 gigabytes unlimited? And throttling the bandwidth isn’t any better. .05 mbps? Seriously? You can’t even check your email with that. Just advertise what the actual limit is.

How else is everyone supposed to know how cool the music-playing-person is?

Yes, this one is a bit crazier than the others, and we’re fully aware that “annoying” doesn’t really do justice to this one…but it is still legal in some countries.
