While all of her writing is absolutely worth reading (if urban fantasy with awesome heroines and romance is your thing), this is a particular favorite of mine and the first in a series.

Blaire is a strong, beautiful woman who’s been through the ringer after the death of her mother. She’s a bit jaded.

This is the second book in a series about a hedonistic club in London, run by three Lords. Three Lords nicknamed Sin, Devil, and Vice. Each book centers around one of the men, and in Devil’s Submission, we find Lord Grayson attempting to reconcile with his wife.

A period novel set during WWII, Silver Wings centers around the romance between two women, and we’ll leave it at that!

“Shadowfever” is actually #5 in a series called The Fever Series. The good folks over at smexybooks.com have given it an A+ rating, and I have found them to have very good taste indeed.

This series combines Celtic Mythology and the world as we know it, making it technically Urban Fantasy, but it’s a little out of the box even for the genre. And it contains lines like this (edited for family-friendliness) “He (ahem) *loves* me with the single-minded devotion of a dying man hunting God.”

This is a sexy love story about a restaurant owner and “bad boy” chef that’s full of snark. And sex. And food. Who doesn’t love snark and sex and food?

Noah features a woman falling for her sexy, younger personal trainer.

He also falls for her. They attempt to just be friends, though. Imagine how that works out.

Sexy historical cowboy romance is a genre. And “Promises Linger” (the first book in her Promise Series) delivers just that, via 1860’s Wyoming.

There’s a pretty specific scene with a Kitchen Table. It’ll make a good housewife blush, for sure.

Act Your Age is an erotic novel – just, yep, you know what you’re getting – about a sweet younger woman with a penchant for knitting and baking who falls for her boss.

You ever had a slightly older and really really hot boss you wanted to call “daddy”? If so, then this book is your kind of thing. Exactly that kind of thing, actually.

Another historical romance (okay look, a lot of the clothes were just sexier and more well made then, and titles are fun; it’s an aesthetic thing) features an interesting twist.

This one features a brokenhearted Duke of Pelham, who after 10 months of celibacy falls for a beautiful young man at a brothel. The business arrangement between the two men becomes “complicated” by feels.

“Adult” fairy tales are a whole genre in romantic and erotic fiction. If Erotic isn’t your thing – and no shame if it isn’t – there are plenty of YA retellings that are nitty gritty without being graphic floating around out there.

However, if you like your heroes and heroines to finally get naked at some point, may we suggest Beauty and the Beast by Vivienne Savage. The “Beast” is a dragon shifter who’s stuck in his dragon form, and Princess Anastasia – sent to the beast by her father in hopes of preventing a war – may be the only one who can save both the Prince and their kingdoms.

Some books on this list are kitschy; some are just flat out eroticism, and some are very well written intricate fantasy worlds. Grace Draven is the queen of that last category with solid world building and complex characters that are actually flawed in ways that make them believable.

Yes her books are “steamy,” but you are so invested in the charters by the time the clothes come off that it’s not merely a sex scene but rather the culmination of a relationship and characters that have already had their souls joined by a shared journey or difficulty of some kind.

All her books are worth reading, but I’m recommending you start with Radiance. By the time Brishen and Idilko finally consummate their political marriage, it’s not merely sex. It’s a husband and a wife expressing their mutual love and respect physically. This is pretty darn awesome and despite the magic and fantasy elements, it makes Draven’s writing relatable in a way that most romance novels aren’t.
