When he was only 25 years old, American actor Tim Allen was detained by airport security for trafficking over one and a half pounds of cocaine. Faced with serving a life-sentence in prison, Allen pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and gave the names of 21 other dealers to bring his sentence down to 5 years, of which he only served about 2 and a half.

Despite being one of the best boxers of recent years, Mike Tyson has flirted with illegal activity nearly all of his life. He was first arrested at 12 years old for swiping purses and since then has accumulated a rap sheet of over 40 arrests for everything from petty crimes to aggravated assault. He was also sentenced to six years in prison for raping an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant in 1992; however, he was released early in 1995 for good behavior. Tyson finally managed to turn his life around in 2011 and has, so far, managed to stay conviction free ever since.

British-born Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland has racked up a number of DUI and driving related charges over the years of 1989 to 2007. He was also found guilty of head-butting a fashion designer at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo, New York, but all the charges were dropped following a formal apology from Sutherland.

Matthew McConaughey was arrested in 1999 after local authorities were alerted of noise complaints from his upscale neighborhood in Austin, Texas. The police arrived at McConaughey’s house at around 3 o’clock in the morning, only to find him sitting naked in his living room enthusiastically playing bongos. He was taken into custody and charged with violating Austin’s noise ordinance, resisting arrest and, unsurprisingly, marijuana use.

American rapper Earl Simmons, known by his stage name DMX, has been arrested over a dozen times on charges ranging from illegal drug use, criminal impersonation, parole violation, and everything in between. His most notorious arrest occurred in 2004 after the rapper crashed his SUV through a parking lot gate at the Kennedy Airport in New York. Simmons then proceeded to tell the airport security that he was a government agent before going on to force a random driver out of their vehicle, claiming he was with the FBI.
