San Alfonso Del Mar currently holds the record for the largest swimming pool in the world. It covers as much as eight hectares of land with a total length of one kilometer and reaches 35 meters at its deepest point. In order to have it filled over 250 million liters of seawater is pumped, filtered, and treated from the Pacific Ocean into the pool. This pool is so huge that it accommodates smaller pools near the edges.
